Part 5: Twenty Years of Shadows

Tony fell to his knees right there on the floor, wrapping his arms around Helen. Tears finally streamed down his face. "I knew it was you," he choked out. "I knew you didn't abandon me."
Twenty years ago, Tony's elitist father had framed Helen, threatening to ruin her life and strip Tony of his inheritance if she didn't disappear. To protect her son’s future, she left—but she could never bear to be far from him. She took the lowest-paying job at the hotel his family frequented, watching him grow up from behind pillars, serving him water at business lunches, and praying for the day he would see her.
Tony stood up, holding his mother’s hand tightly. He looked at his cruel bride and the judgmental crowd.

"The wedding is over," Tony announced calmly, his voice echoing with absolute certainty. "I will not marry into a family that treats human beings like garbage. And I will never hide my mother again."
As Tony led Helen out of the ballroom, leaving the elite crowd in stunned silence, Helen finally smiled through her tears. The twenty years of hiding in the shadows were over. She was finally holding her son again.
