Chapter 12 - The Hidden PrototypeInside the grand research vault of the Sterling Tower, Katherine stood before a large, shimmering terminal.

The screens displayed the blueprints for a revolutionary green-energy filtration system—the project her husband Arthur had spent his final years developing, and the true reason she had mortgaged their home ten years ago.

Daniel had believed Vance Innovative Tech was successful because of his software, but the core software was actually just the interface for this physical prototype. He had never understood the engineering behind it; he had only cared about the marketing.

"It's beautiful, Katherine," Miriam said, standing beside her. "The patent is officially registered in your name. We’ve received offers from three major international environmental agencies to fund the global launch. The company is worth triple what it was under Daniel’s management."

"I don't care about the money, Miriam," Katherine said softly, her fingers tracing the steel casing of the prototype. "Arthur wanted this to save lives. He wanted our son to be the one to give it to the world. But Daniel wanted to be a king instead of a creator."

"Do you think he will ever understand?" Miriam asked.

"I don't know," Katherine sighed, looking out the window at the distant suburban lights. "But he has to learn how to walk before he can run. I just hope he starts before the winter comes."
