Chapter 6 - The Mistress's True ColorsRumors of the sudden downfall of V-Capital spread through high society with the speed of wildfire. Brenda, who just the night before had been standing proudly in her crimson dress, was now frantically stuffing designer handbags and diamond jewelry into suitcases inside the luxury apartment Andrew had bought for her.
"Darling, I think we should temporarily take some space so you can focus entirely on resolving your business issues," Brenda stated smoothly as Andrew unlocked the door, looking completely disheveled.
Andrew stared at the packed luggage, his eyes bloodshot. "Are you leaving me? Brenda, I ruined my marriage for you! I endured everything for you!"
The mistress's gentle demeanor vanished instantly, replaced by absolute contempt.

"Stop acting pathetic. I stayed with you because you were the chairman of V-Capital, not to join a bankrupt debtor out on the streets. I heard even your mother's mansion has been repossessed. Don't block my way."
Brenda violently pushed Andrew aside, rolling her suitcases out the door without looking back at the man now collapsing onto the floor.
