Chapter 5 - The Desperate CallAndrew charged into the V-Capital corporate offices to find absolute chaos. Employees were frantically packing their belongings, and institutional shareholders were crowding the executive boardroom, demanding immediate answers.
"Andrew! The Genesis Fund completely pulled out! Our stock price dropped by 30% within the first two hours of the market opening!" a major shareholder screamed, grabbing Andrew by the collar.
Andrew broke away, desperately calling the personal line of the Managing Director of the Genesis Fund—a man of immense power to whom Andrew had spent four years bowing down. After five ignored attempts, the call finally connected.
"Director Li! Why are you pulling out the funds? We signed a long-term strategic alliance!" Andrew shouted into the receiver.
Director Li let out a cold, mocking chuckle from the other end.

"Andrew, you truly are the most oblivious fool I have ever encountered. The Genesis Fund never invested in your mediocre capability. We invested solely under the direct mandate of the Chairwoman of the Escalante Group. And that woman happens to be the very wife you publicly humiliated last night."
The phone slipped out of Andrew's hand, clattering uselessly against the floorboards.
