Chapter 5: The Snake's Domain
A month passed. Eleanor remained in a deep coma in the ICU. With Rosa in jail awaiting trial, Victoria completely took over the mansion. She replaced the staff, redecorated Eleanor's rooms, and began pushing Arthur to sign over power of attorney for the family business.
"It's what your mother would have wanted," Victoria cooed, pouring him a glass of whiskey. But Arthur was growing uneasy. Victoria was too eager, too cold. And then there was Lily. His daughter hadn't spoken a single word since the night of the accident. She refused to be in the same room as Victoria, and whenever she saw the color purple, she would shake with fear.
