Chapter 7: The Trap is Set
Arthur didn't confront Victoria immediately; he needed undeniable proof. He secretly went to the police with Lily's drawing and his testimony about the cane. They devised a plan.
The next evening, Arthur received a "call" from the hospital while sitting in the living room with Victoria. "What?" Arthur acted shocked. "My mother is awake? She can talk? I'll be right there!"
He rushed out of the house. Left alone, Victoria panicked. If the old woman could speak, her perfect life was over. She grabbed her keys, driving frantically to the hospital, determined to silence Eleanor once and for all.
