Chapter 23

Chapter 24: The Architecture of a Trap
That evening, Elena stood in the dimly lit study of her home, a sprawling digital map of Victor Sterling’s corporate empire projected onto the wall. Julian stood beside her, a glass of bourbon in his hand, his eyes scanning the intricate web of shell companies and outsourced factories.
"He relies entirely on intimidation," Julian noted, tracing a line between Vanguard Holdings and a notoriously abusive manufacturing plant overseas. "He crushes whistleblowers before they can reach the press. It’s the exact same psychological warfare your father used."
"Which means it has the exact same structural weakness," Elena replied. "Arrogance."

Elena was not interested in merely surviving a hostile takeover. She was interested in absolute, poetic justice. She was going to engineer a trap built entirely out of Victor’s own hubris.
"We don't play defensive," Elena decided, her eyes reflecting the glowing data. "We accelerate his timeline. We make him think we are vulnerable, force him to overextend his capital, and then we pull the floor out from under him. He wants a war? We will give him a reckoning."
